Click Effects vs Motion Rocket vs Ross

Choosing the software for your LED screen is the most important part. Without it, they are just big TVs, the software makes all the difference. Things to consider are the performance, such as for live video capture, how many frames of delay are there? Since I am planning to build my own cutting edge software to outperform all of them at a fraction of the price, I had to do all the testing and benchmarking. I figured I should share the results to help you make the best decision, and possibly consider our solution once it’s available, if your project is in the future.

Motion Rocket is a cost effective solution while still being able to do many of the same things as Click Effects. The UI is a little bit limited as you can’t rearrange many objects at a time or move them between tabs. They use consumer level Black Magic capture cards and consumer AMD hardware.

Click Effects uses PRIME’s powerful CG capabilities: transitions, shaders, conditional logic, and more. PRIME Click Effects® supports any resolution (HD, UHD-4K) and any format (SDI, GPU, NDI, IP) with very low latency. BackDraft, Click Effects PRIME’s fully redundant and automated backup solution, ensures that your media files, system settings, and even software updates are always fully synchronized. They use XEON professional level processors and MATROX professional level capture cards.

Rocket Effects: This is our solution, we have optimized everything to work perfectly on the latest consumer hardware. Our solution has 10G Ethernet, USB4, WiFi 7, DDR5, PCIe5, etc.
