NOTE: Do NOT upgrade the receiving card firmware. Most panels use custom firmware that ends in a number other than 0. If you try to update to the standard versions of firmware it will most likely cause your panels to stop working or display weird artifacts.
To Upgrade MX40 Pro Firmware go to Tools -> Maintain and then Controller Maintain.
Select the controller and click upgrade. Specify the .img after extracting the .zip.
